Workouts are used to plan and report training in AA. A workout contains exercises and can be put in either an athlete’s calendar or in a planning.

Creating a Workout

Start by entering some basic information such as “Name”, “Category” and “Description”. The “Category” you select here will determine what type of training the exercise was in the training analysis. The “Description” field should be used to provide the athlete with additional information about the workout.

Planned Session RPE (Rating of Perceived Exertion)

Every workout has a planned exertion ranging from 0 to 20 based on “Session RPE” (Rating of Perceived Exertion). It’s very important to plan the Session RPE correctly because various analysis are based on the Session RPE. Remember that Session RPE is about the whole session/workout and not just the hardest exercise in the workout.
For example, a standards judo session often consists of the exercises warm up, technical training, ne waza randori, tachi waza randori and is ended with stretching. Even if the tachi waza is very challenging physically it doesn’t mean that the whole session is very, very hard.

Exercises

To add an exercise to the workout either click or start typing in the search bar under the grey area. Click on the name of the exercise that you want to add. You can rearrange the order of the exercise by dragging the arrow on each exercise.
Circuit training
It is possible to create a circuit of exercises that should either be done for an amount of time or a number of times. Start by clicking the checkbox on each exercise that you want to include and then select “Create interval group” from the drop-down menu above the exercise area.interval-jpg
TIP, you can copy exercises and interval groups in a workout by first clicking the checkbox and then select “Copy” from the drop-down menu above.

Workout Length

The system tries to estimate the length of the workout. However, as soon as you put a repetition exercise into the workout the system can no longer estimate the length of it. In that case you have manually adjust the length of the workout at the bottom.
